BONA
art gallery
Bona means to look — but here, looking becomes feeling, remembering, collecting, and seeing Africa differently.
A space to look deeper.
BONA Art Gallery is a contemporary African gallery located at Swazi Candles in Malkerns, Eswatini. The gallery celebrates visual storytelling through textured portraiture, sculpture, mixed media, and intimate exhibitions shaped by African identity.
Instead of a traditional white-box gallery experience, BONA blends warmth, contrast, heritage, and minimalist restraint — creating a space that feels refined, rooted, and intentionally different.
In Siswati, “Bona” means “to look.” The gallery invites visitors to slow down, observe, and experience art with intention.

Mdudusi Mnisi
Mdudusi Mnisi is featured as one of BONA’s highlighted contemporary voices — an artist whose work explores African identity, texture, memory, and emotional presence through bold visual language.
His work fits the BONA philosophy: art that asks the viewer not only to look, but to stay with the image long enough for it to speak back.
